The last cutting of peonies is in the Farmstand cooler.
There are just 4 beautiful bouquets!
$10.00 each
We have moved our trailer with the tomato & pepper plants away from the farmstand because the sun and heat was really starting to take a toll on the plants. We have moved a few plants into the Farmstand next to our High Mowing Organic seed display.

Our hens are on “Free Choice” pasture and are supplemented with certified organic feed. That means that they come and go as they please. They usually choose to be in the shade during the heat of the day. When they choose to be outside, you can see them from the Farmstand. However, they are protected from predators with an electric fence. So, we ask that you stay in the immediate area of the Farmstand. Two of our alpacas spend the summer with them for some added protection from flying predators. We have a pretty healthy hawk population and they seem to be deterred by the alpacas.
Yesterday we put our zucchini, patty pan, lemon squash, pickle cucumbers and some trial melon plants in. We also planted some cucumber seeds & another row of beets. This weather is the “sweet spot” where you can successfully plant both cool and warm season crops.
We still have a nice selection of transplants AND, they’re on sale. $2.50 each or 10 for $20.00. Our High Mowing Organics seed is also on sale $2.00 per package.
The plants will be available outside by our self-service Farmstand until they’re gone.
It’s a frosty morning and we have one more cold night coming tonight.
The weather after that looks like nice garden planting – warmer temps and some rain to get things growing!
Our organic plants, High Mowing organics seed, potato sets, Organic soil & Grow Bags will all be available today. The plant wagons will be parked near the farmstand & the other items are in our self-serve Farmstand.

All of our plants are grown here in our organic greenhouse. They will be out for sale by our farmstand (weather permitting) until they are gone.
We also have seeds available from High Mowing Organics.
Now is the perfect time to plant cool season seeds and plants. We still have a couple more cool nights with possible frost. So, we suggest holding off on planting tomatoes and peppers. While the cool temperatures may or may not kill them – it will prevent them from living up to their full potential.
The plants will be out for sale today at around 9 (waiting for the temps to warm).
It sounds like we will have much needed rain all day tomorrow – so today is your best outdoor shopping opportunity for last minute Mothers Day gifts. We have a nice variety in everyone’s price range ($ 3.50 to $25.).

We have our potato bed prepared and have been working on cutting the seed potatoes into chunks for planting. Depending on the size of the set and the number and location of “eyes” sprouting – we get between 2 – 4 chunks from each potato. We like to have 2 eyes on each chunk but if you have a really robust eye, you can get away with 1. We give them a couple of days after cutting to form a skin on the cut side. That prevents the potato chunks from rotting in the cool spring soil.
You can expect to get between 6 and 13 pounds of potatoes from 1 pound of sets.
Sets are available in our Farmstand. We also have Grow Bags & organic soil if you don’t have a garden spot for them.
Available varieties are Austrian Crescent, Binjte, Rose Gold & Purple Viking
*We have info on growing potatoes under the Garden at Home tab.
*Plants will be in the Farmstand starting today until they are sold out.
Mara Des Bois strawberry was developed by a French breeding program. This variety produces small to medium fruit, and contains the highest flavor and fragrance of any everbearer. Berries have an attractive red color with a high gloss. Planted in the spring, Mara Des Bois will produce fruit during the summer into the fall. The following spring it also produces a good spring crop.
APRIL 20th
We purchased bare root plants in late winter and planted them in organic soil. They have been growing in our organic greenhouse to give them a good head start for the season.
Strawberries are an easy plant to grow and you will get berries this year with this everbearing variety. You can either plant them in the ground, in a container or even in a hanging basket. I suggest 3 plants for a 10-14 inch container. If you’re planting in the ground, you can plant 12-18 inches apart in a row.

These heavy duty bags will last for multiple seasons. The handles make it easier to move them. And, they’re made from a combination of recycled plastic bottles and natural fiber.
We have 2 sizes available – 7 or 15 gallon
The 7 gallon size is good for 1 smaller tomato plant, peppers, eggplant, cucumber (with a trellis), carrots, beets, ect… You can also plant some early leafy greens around the edge with your warm season plant growing in the center. By the time the center plant starts to fill in, the early plants will be finished. So many options!
