Big Smile Dwarf Sunflowers

Big Smile Sunflower

This is one of the pollinator friendly plant we will be selling at our May Creekside Market Day.

Attractive in small beds and containers. 3–6″ blooms are bright golden-yellow with a black center.

Here is a quick explanation of the attributes of Big Smile. Day neutral (length of daylight doesn’t affect blooming), Branching (plants will continue to bloom after the first flower – we love that!) Some hybrid sunflowers will produce 1 large flower and no more. Bears pollen (pollinators prefer these to the pollenless hybrids. But, they will leave pollen on your tablecloth, Open pollinated (not a hybrid so saved seed will bloom true to the original plant if you are only growing 1 variety)

Plant Height: 10–15″ in containers; 12–24″ in the garden

Transplant — Sow in final container, placing 1 seed per 6″ pot or 3 seeds per gallon container, 3-4 weeks prior to planting out. Dislikes root disturbance.

Our plants will come in a plantable fiber pot so you can transplant without disturbing the roots.
