What is GMO? Why should I care? Bringing awareness
Joliet Public Library and Food & Water Watch are co-sponsoring a free movie screening of GMO OMG. This film tells the story of a father’s discovery of GMOs (genetically modified organisms) in relationship to his 3 young children and the world around him. Each of us unknowingly consumes GMOS on a daily basis without knowing the risks to our health and the environment. Come learn what GMOs are and information about the new proposed State of Illinois GMO labeling legislation. Following the film, an expert from Food & Water Watch will be available for a Q & A session. Light refreshments, non-GMO popcorn and bottled water, will be provided by Fruitful Yield Joliet.
