We still have eggs in the Farmstand cooler – probably for just a few more days. With the shorter days and colder weather, we will soon be only selling from the house by appointment.

The 3.2 inches of rain yesterday put an end to pasture time for the season but the alpacas are enjoying their new hay feeder.
Next Year’s Garlic is ready to go in the ground!

We have a few new varieties to go along with our old favorites
Summer will be coming to an end today with overnight temps expected to be 32 degrees!
So, we have picked all of the peppers and the last of the tomatoes.
In addition to the regular packaging, there is a 3 pound bag of red Lunchbox peppers ($5.00) and a 5 pound bag of bell peppers ($8.00) in the cooler. Peppers are easy to freeze and so wonderful on a cold winter day!
We also have butternut squash, baking pumpkins, white onions and eggs.
We picked lots of lovely sweet peppers!
Peppers are super easy to freeze and it is so nice to have them available on a cold winter day!
And HONEY!
Sweet peppers are in the cooler along with some jalapeno peppers, red okra, the last flower bouquets of the season and eggs.
Butternut and spaghetti squash, onions, baking pumpkins and the last of the tomatoes are in the stand.
Contact us ahead of coming out for honey. We do not stock that in the stand.

We were able to get flowers and herbs cut before the rain started yesterday. This could be the last week for flowers as the zinnias really suffer from the extreme rain.
$7.00 for flowers
$4.00 for herbs

The water has gone down from the overnight high, but you can see it was over the bank at some point

Peppers had water running through

Tomatoes had running water and now have standing water. They had finally started to recover from the spring floods.
The good news is that the bridge and bee hives are still in place! And I cut some flowers and herbs yesterday so we will have bouquets in the cooler on this dreary day.
We have sweet red Lunch Box peppers available in a 3 pound bag for $6.00
2 bags available in the Farmstand cooler
They are super easy to freeze (just cut the tops off and throw them in a freezer bag) for your winter eating pleasure. My favorite winter use is in omelets.
Thawed Lunch Box peppers last winter.
Fresh mason jar bouquets are in the cooler for $7.00 each
We also have a nice selection of heirloom, cherry and roma tomatoes – $2.50 per pint
Yellow squash, various sweet and bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, garlic and Fresh salsa kits. The kit has everything you need to make a batch of fresh salsa – including our recipe!
Pork

Tage Shumway raises a Berkshire/Tamworth cross on a beautiful wooded (oak & hickory) pasture. The pigs are born on his farm in a natural setting (no farrowing crates). In addition to the pasture forage, he supplements with certified organic feed from a local mill.
He sells either a half or whole hog and will be taking some in for processing next week.
$2.00 per pound hanging weight and you pay processing.
You can contact him at
shumwaytage@gmail.com
Beef , Chicken & Lamb
Jim and Ruth Draper at Graze-N-Grow Farm raise Belted Galloway cattle and Kathadin sheep on full pasture. They are also raising some Freedom Ranger chickens this year. The chickens are supplemented with certified organic feed from a local mill and also have pasture for foraging.
Choose the tomatoes you like to fill a pint container (or 2) for $2.50
We have fresh flowers in the Farmstand cooler. They arranged in a jar and ready to gift or brighten your table. There are tags available for you to add to the jar for gifting.
Just $7.00 each!
We also have fresh salsa kits, tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet peppers, jalapeno peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, beans, garlic and okra.
We made up some more Fresh Flower bouquets this morning. Stop by our Farmstand and pick one up for a hostess gift or for your own enjoyment. We have some cute tags to choose from for gifting. $7.00 each

(The stand is open and stocked with eggs and available vegetables every day)

We made some cute Sunflower soaps that will be finished curing just in time.
In addition to the sunflowers, we will have our regular goat milk soap bars and our Aleppo soap. The goat milk we use in our soap comes from Staudacher Farm in Yorkville.
We will have raw honey from hives on our farm, a variety of seasonal vegetables and alpaca yarn made from the fiber of our Suri alpacas.
Our hens are enjoying their large grass filled pasture and producing plenty of eggs.
We are finally getting a nice variety of vegetables!
Beautiful Dragon Tongue beans are in the Farmstand
Along with, green and purple beans, zucchini and Lemon squash, bags of mixed color bell and sweet peppers, pints of Shishito and red Lunch Box peppers, calico sweet corn, garlic, tomatoes and plenty of eggs.

Fresh flowers are in the cooler for Fresh Flower Friday! We also picked calico sweet corn, fresh tomatoes, sweet peppers, bell peppers, zucchini and yellow squash, green and Dragon Tongue beans, and have plenty of eggs from our organic and pasture raised hens.
We are finally starting to pick a larger variety of vegetables! YAY!!!
We will have a limited quantity of a few new items – sweet corn, potatoes & tomatoes.
Renee will be cutting flowers this morning and making up some beautiful bouquets.
We will have plenty of eggs from our pasture raised hens, raw honey from hives on our farm and hand made soap.
Our featured soap is Aleppo soap. It is a combination or olive and laurel berry oils. It takes an extra long cure time (it’s been curing since early January) because of the liquid oils. The longer cure time makes a harder bar and also improves the lather and mildness of the soap.
We will also have yarn and fiber from our small herd of Suri alpacas
